Total Immersion
Grigory Sokolov is one of the most exceptional pianists of our time. He transforms every recital into a unique experience by drawing the audience into his own musical world. His concerts are remarkable for his complete absorption in the moment as he performs with spontaneous musicianship, poetic depth and a rare intensity. Solokov focuses exclusively on his main goal of sparking a live connection between the music and the audience. His performances revolve around his desire to create nuances in his playing, his vision of how the music should sound and his structural clarity. His programmes are compiled with much deliberation at least six months in advance and are designed to open up a wide perspective on the history of piano music, the great masters and works from different eras. Each of his concerts is a journey of musical discovery paved with tonal sensitivity, analytical precision and impressive virtuosity.
