Talent and Tango
This PRO MUSICA charity concert with the NDR Radiophilharmonie is in support of the work carried out by Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Hannover. The organisation offers scholarships for talented young musicians and brings classical music to people who are unable to attend concerts. High-quality, free events are held in hospices, hospitals and care homes. Former holder of the Live Music Now scholarship Alexandra Conunova, who is now a star violinist and in great demand, will be joining the current scholarship holder Sofia Smarandescu, to perform Astor Piazzolla’s tango-inspired piece entitled "The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires". Under the baton of Andreas Ottensamer, the orchestra will play a colourful programme with the Dances of Galánta by Zoltán Kodály and the brilliant "Italian" Symphony by Felix Mendelssohn in an evening of music that combines artistic excellence with social commitment.
