A Rising Star

Anastasia Kobekina is the cellist everyone is talking about this year. She is amazingly talented, plays with technical assurance and has a fantastic artistic presence both on and off stage. When performing, she appears to become one with the music. After receiving the Leonard Bernstein Award in 2024 as well as an OPUS Klassik award, her career moved into the fast lane and was further accelerated by a documentary film shown on Germany’s ARD television channel entitled Jetzt oder nie! (Now or never). Here at PRO MUSICA, we decided it is now high time we presented this upcoming star cellist at a concert in Hannover. Accompanied by the venerable Academy of St Martin in the Fields, she will play Haydn’s lively Cello Concerto No.1 and Stravinski’s Suite italienne, inspired by the music of Pergolesi.
